Berlin, Germany

I visited Berlin two years ago and can't get enough of this place. It is not only rich in traditional culture, but also has an avante-garde, bohemian vibe no longer present in cities such as New York, London, and Paris. Those cities lost their magic when wealthy out-of-towners moved in, resulting in high real estate prices and ultimately the expulsion of artists. I don't know about you, but I prefer the old gritty Times Square over the shopping malls and chain restaurants they have there now. Thank you Republican Mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg for making Manhattan void of native New Yorkers. But I digress. Here are some photos of the Fernsehturm (television tower) built by the Soviets in the former East Berlin. It is the tallest structure in Germany at 1,200 feet.
