French Red Carpet

After a scenic train ride along the French Riviera, I arrived in Cannes, home of the famous International Film Festival which is held in a large auditorium near the beach. I believe the festival takes place in May and lasts about two weeks. The top award is The Palme D'Or (Golden Palm) which is the equivalent of our Oscar but somewhat more serious, i.e., it is less of a popularity contest.
