This version of "David" was created in 2012 by a German artist named Hans-Peter Feldmann. It is displayed in the courtyard of the Galleria della' Accademia, just a few feet away from the original. The gaudy, Pop Art colors are supposed to tell us something "deep" about commercialism and mass consumerism. Bite me. Not that I have anything against modern art, in fact, I love most of it. But didn't Andy Warhol cover this subject about 45 years ago?
